Should the Viña Festival 2021 be held?
Last weekend the tv national chanels T13 and TVN made a formal petition to the municipality of viña to cancel the festival next summer due to the sanitary emergency that is affecting the world and spcially our country. Although it is expected to see improves of the pandemic for summer i think it is impossible to held a normal festival in 2021.
Virginia reginato answered to the petition saying "In August it is time to make proposals and not excuses to suspend it. If the sanitary conditions allow it, we will do everything possible so that the Festival takes place, because summer will be vital to reactivate Viña del Mar".
In this case it would be necesary that some sanitary or politic authority denied the permission to held the event, until that happens the festival is coming. What do you think about this? What ideas do you have to held a festival that adapts to the sanitary conditions?
I would say that it depends mostly on how the government handles things fron now on, if we just open up the country and let all these different events take place, all of this "quarantining" would have been for nothing. I mean we can see a rise on infected people since santiago was lifted from quarantine. I say that it is okay to make Viña next year only if we let in a limited amount of people go.
