My opinion

In my opinion, the situation that we are living today refects how our interests as humans have shifted from the well being of the whole species to a more individualist kind of thought.

We can see this in the situation between Iran and the US, where the goverments just spend their whole salary on weapons to threaten the enemy. In our political systems, where the goverment so busy helping the larger companies produce, that the smaller ones get left behind and not taken into account at all. In our forests, where people destroy entire ecosystems for the glory of a few more dollars.

What I see is the humanity we had left is almost gone, we spend billions of dollars in expensive war equipment instead of working on our public health issues, politicians do everything to ensure that THEY are secured, not the people who voted from them. I see that the global powers are too busy fighting between themselves, not between humanity and its will to thrive and explore new frontiers.

This reflects how the virus has been treated worldwide. It has spread this way because of the global health issues that every country has, and instead of providing a competent health service, i only see greedy politicians stealing money from their people to use it for themselves or in a "war" that will lead to nothing.

During the cold war, people were afraid of eachother, and that is what has led us to this individualist thinking. I invite everyone to think of this as an opportunity to unite as humans to fight against a common enemy, which now is Covid-19, but in a near future, if we dont see this as an oportunity to unite and prosper as a species we may have to fight a much more powerful one, our greed.

  1. I agree with you. This virus is teaching us to be humble, kind, and take care of each other.

  2. I agree with your point of view; I am surprised because we as humans never learn; we have made this mistake before and we picked up nothing from that experience.

Picture the earth between 1917 and 1918, in the midst of the First World War, suddenly a mysterious disease appears, capable of spreading and killing quickly. Politicians and countries censor and hide everything from the public because they don't want to be seen weak by their enemies. They put their pride and interest higher in their priority list, rather than helping the people who choose them. Because of this silence, we encourage one of the worst pandemics in human history, having a death toll well over millions.

What you have talked about in your post has happened, is happening, and it will continue to happen until someday we face off against an impossible challenge.
